History & Nature Tour Ghana

Day 1: Accra

Arrive at Kotoka International Airport. A guide will pick you up for your hotel transfer. Relax after your journey for a fascinating tour filled with Nature and History highlights of Ghana.

Day 2: Accra City Tour

  • Explore the vibrant city of Accra by Visiting the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park which is the resting home of the first president of Ghana.
  • Explore the Makola Market and experience the local culture of market women.
  • Visit the Jamestown fishing community, where Accra originated.

Day 3: Akosombo and Volta

  • Start you day with a visit to Shai Hills to watch some local wildlife like baboons, antelopes and Hike to the Shai Hills summit which offers a breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.
  • Visit Cedi Beads, a Ghanaian-born jewelry brand that specializes in creating beautiful handcrafted jewelry.
  • Continue to Wli Waterfalls, the highest waterfall in Ghana. With about 8 minutes hike you will get to the waterfall and enjoy a refreshing swim.

Day 4: Tafi Monkey Sanctuary and Mt. Afadja.

  • Visit mount Afadja, the highest mountain in Ghana, about 885m high.
  • Visit the Tafi Monkey Sanctuary and observe the sacred monkeys in their Natural habitat. Learn about the conservation efforts to protect these endangered species.
  • Continue to Akosombo for a relaxing Boat Ride on the Volta river.

Day 5: Cape Coast and Elmina

  • Depart for Cape Coast.
  • Visit the Cape Coast Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and learn about the history of the Transatlantic Slave Trade and colonial history of Ghana.
  • Explore Elmina Castle and learn about the colonial history of Ghana.

Day 6: Kakum National Park and Cape Coast

Day 8: Accra

  • Visit the National Museum of Ghana and find out more about the history of the country.

Day 9: Accra
